Notice Re: 2023 Shows
Kennel Club of Palm Springs in Indio, CA, Kachina KC in Surprise, AZ, and Phoenix, AZ shows, 2023, may be shows we miss (awww!) because we're hopefully expecting Mirage x Argos puppies shortly before this show and will not make the trip so our puppies can avoid contact with any outside germs.

Here's where you can find us out and about, either competing (conformation, herding trials, dog sports, etc.) or other public appearances such as AKC's Meet The Breeds, community events that our dogs participate in, and so on. Silver Bay KC Breed Expo
In February 2022, we had the great pleasure to participate in the ever-exciting, always fun Silver Bay Kennel Club show and Breed Expo. Sierra got to spend some time learning how to be a show dog (she got my undivided attention when it was time to be in the conformation ring!) and the other two tagged along, as did Mark, to show off what a Canaan Dog is like. We had SO MANY wonderful visitors to our booth, which was generously provided by the Kennel Club and we got to spend a few lovely days hanging out with everyone who wanted to know more about our dogs. Riley loves the attention, Mirage hangs out and oversees everyone looking for little kids to love on and Sierra just took it all in and had a blast introducing herself to anyone who would stop by. Our dogs are, by nature, aloof with strangers and we like to say they're more of a handshake than a hug (a phrase Mirage doesn't always take to heart as she's a kisser once she decides you're her friend) and we are happy to say there are now many more people who will recognize and appreciate our fine breed when seen out and about.

Of course this is one of our 'must attend' shows and we were happy to see it return to Indio, where Sierra stepped into the 4-6 month puppy ring with Mark and then Riley and Sierra took turns through the conformation ring, skillfully handled by Mark and our neighbor Becky. Already planning next year's show!

CDCA Nationals 2021
We made it!! After saving and preparing and planning for several years, we made it to the CDCA Nationals in Arizona where we spent two long weekends stepping into the ring repeatedly with Mark handling Riley and the lovely Keith Shank and his beautiful bride (who happen to be the owners/handlers of Mirage's sire Lil Roy, litter sister Regal, and grand-dam Daizy) we were able to garner some great ribbons, fabulous experience, meet people in person we had only known on line and reconnect with others we'd known in person for years and not seen in a very long time. Mirage finished her CH over the course of the two weekends and Mark took his very first steps into the show ring and did great! Sierra came along for the ride and was perfect.
Future Events
Sierra is entered in conformation for the privilege of showing under Ms. Linda Clark on Friday, 24 June, 2022 at the Industry Hills Expo Center in City of Industry. We're being joined by Jennie and a couple of her favorite boys, Argos and Kuma. Come cheer for us!
All of our dogs (Riley, Mirage and Sierra) will be showing off the breed once more at the San Diego Convention Center September 10 and 11, 2022, for this two-day event where we encourage everyone to stop by and have their photo taken on the red carpet with a real, live Canaan Dog!
Once again we hope to attend this show out at Lake Perris State Recreation Area, where we enjoy camping just up the hill from the lovely park where the conformation and sports events take place. As this is Halloween weekend Oct 29 and 30, I give myself full permission to dress up and pass out candy!
